    Fabulous

I appreciated the friendliness of staff from the maids, front desk, to chef Andy. Exremely informative.Proximity to the beach, strip, and local activities. Shout out to Doug, Eric, Davis, Travis, Chelsea, Rebecca, and night shift guy. Chef Andy, Dekla and all maid staffers. Hope to see all of you soon.

The wireless Internet connection can be so much better. Move the router so that it can read 401b. And let's us rock out tilt least 11pm in the common area.

    Superb

I liked the value for money. It's actually as good as a hostel can get. the rooms have well stocked kitchens and comfy beds. The cleanlyness of the rooms is very good and the hotel staff is very helpfull and frienli (24h a day). I loved the lounge where everybody hung out and got in touch with each other. If you don't want to, you will not be alone for long. I'll be back!

The wifi internet connection was sketchy at times. Apparently they had some trouble and tryed fixing it. The breakfast is not very good. Just toast, jam and peanut butter every morning.

    Superb

I am an older traveler, and jsut wanted to get away for a few days and not pay too much for a room that I only intended to get some sleep in. Was my first experience at a Hostel, and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the room mates were around 25, and very well behaved and respectful - and seemed to be there for the same reason. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hostel to anyone and plan to come back again.

    Exceptional

Friendly and helpful staff (double checked the bus schedule for me since they had changed recently), other roommates were really friendly and mellow, not a competely crazy party place like some have said on other sites. Granted people were up to have a fun time at night too so it was easy to find a group to go out with too. But on teh night I had to sleep to wake up early to catch my flight it was super easy and the place was overall quiet. Easy overall trip checking in and out. Would stay again.

Towels with your linens? Not a deal breaking though since I brought one for the beach and the rest of my travels.

i stay for 1-night for the room was for-3 to 4 people.i move to pacific ohana hostel on-2552 lemon road and paid for 3-days and that was the biggers mistake i have ever made in my life, first night i could not sleep for the room bed was full of Bed bite.i inform the hostel front desk about and to clean the room.that never happen for 2-days.the room was clean the last night before i left.

if i ever visit Honolulu, the last place for me to stay will be Hostel.i will recommend waikiki Beachside hotels to my fellow airlines staff, but not any hostel.

Everything! It's a city block from the pier where everybody of all ages congregated at 6pm - kids still boogie boarding - waiting for the sun to Plop! Into ocean like clockwork. I never got tired of it in the two weeks we were there. The water is so clean, also the streets of Waikiki. Great variety of shops and restaurants, from the cheap to the best. And the surrounding scenery! Wow! We took bus tours here, there and everywhere - visited Pearl Harbour and the Arizona Memorial - so moving, the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, so beautiful - and all the different birds. My friend (aged 70) walked up to Diamond Head from the hostel - she's used to hiking the Yorkshire Moors! Kudos to the bus services also! It was easy to use, loved the bus transfers and the facility of showing the name for the next bus stop - great for visitors not sure of where they were, also the notice that a request for a stop had already been made. Notices pointing out seats/areas designated for the disabled were useful also. And passengers were very kind about offering seats to the elderly (us!) when the bus was full.

    Good

My first time staying at a hostel...it fit my needs. Was a better experience than I had expected.

The front desk person was rude to the young males checking in.

    Fabulous

The location was pretty good. 10 min walk to Waikiki and 2 mins to the beach. The girls dorm was tatty but clean, well fitted out with full kitchen in one bedroom and a bathroom in the other. It was nice an spacious with only 2 beds in each area of the dorm. Not as tight as other hostels. Also the guests and the staff were really friendly.

I enjoyed the atmosphere but it might not be for someone wanting a really chilled holiday, it could be a little noisy. I would have liked it if the lockers in the room were provided for free instead of $1 a use (a use was whenever you re-closed it) and if the left luggage had have been for free.

    Very good

The staff was very helpful and seemed to legitimately enjoy talking to me about the city. The hostel is only a block away from Waikiki beach. Staying at the hostel gets you a nice discount at the bike/moped rental shop next door.

Being so close to the beach, it's a very loud neighborhood, even late at night. The hostel seizes the opportunity to charge for everything-- towels, luggage storage, even internet. Yes, it does have free wifi, as advertised, but the connection is so slow and spotty you shouldn't expect to get any work done, as I was trying to do, so you might have to pay them to use the internet cafe next door. They don't even provide free blankets (probably unnecessary in Hawaii anyway, but if you get cold a lot, you should bring your own). This isn't a youth hostel, so don't be surprised (as I was) if your roommates are older people with noisy/gross health issues that keep you up late at night.
